Q: Why are there three feeds for a five line web page?
A: People will have their little preferences, won't they?
Q: What are the differences between the feeds?
A: For now, they're all RSS 0.92 because, let's face it,
The Heidi FAQ isn't that complex and doesn't really require much in the
way of fancy formatting. Heidi originally formatted the feed so that the
answers would appear as separate headlines, believing that this would
streamline the
reading process. But, one very pleasant fan requested that he would
prefer a
single timestamped headline with the Q&A's appearing all together in a single synopsis. Another user didn't mind the separate headlines, but wanted the Q&A order preserved. You can subscribe to all of them and decide which format you like best.
Q: Isn't this a lot of work?
A: Nope. Years ago, when Heidi wearied of command line
telnet editing, she implemented a lovely little php backend. Now, it's pretty brainless to send those four answers off to as many different file formats as her fans request (any WML users out there? just let Heidi know).
